Sendcash x Wyre

One of the most recurring points of feedback that we’ve received since we launched Sendcash in April is how stressful it is to have to buy and send crypto from an external app. We heard you, and we just launched a new way for you to do this easily and quickly. Now, your Sendcash transactions can truly be completed in less than 5 minutes!

We integrated the app with Wyre which enables you to purchase and send USDC using your bank card or Apple Pay right from the Sendcash page. We are using USDC instead of Bitcoin, because of the lower network fees and increased transaction speed that it offers. USDC is a stablecoin backed 1:1 to the US dollar. How to use Wyre on Sendcash:

Visit sendcash.africa and fill out the recipient’s details and the amount to send.
Click on the ‘Send with Wyre’ option.
Select your payment option (Debit card, Credit card or Apple Pay) on Wyre.
Fill out your payment information and complete payment.

Sendcash will receive your transfer, process it and deliver to the recipient in Naira or Cedis.

For the first time, both parties in a Sendcash transaction don’t have to interact with crypto even though it powers every step of the transaction. This is an essential integration for us and our users because it greatly reduces the barriers to using cryptocurrency.

The ‘Send with Bitcoin’ option is still available so you can always send from any Bitcoin wallet or cryptocurrency app.

In our previous article, we shared how Sendcash works. You buy Bitcoin from an external service, send it to a Sendcash wallet address, we sell it on the BuyCoins exchange and deposit the Naira or Cedi equivalent to your recipient — all within minutes.

With the new “Send with Wyre” option, Wyre takes care of the first two steps for you by purchasing USDC on your behalf and sending it to the Sendcash wallet address. It happens within a few minutes too, so there are no additional delays.
