Cash App is a mobile payment service that allows users to transfer money to one another using a mobile phone application. Users can then choose to withdraw the money with its debit Visa card, called Cash Card, in ATMs or transfer it to any local bank account.
Does Cash App work internationally?
No. For now, Cash App is limited to transfers between the UK and the USA. That is, you can only send or request Cash App payments with friends between the UK and the US. However, with Sendcash, you can use Cash App to send money to Nigeria. You can go ahead and try it out now
Here’s how it works: When a user sends a payment to a different country, e.g. from the US to the UK, Cash App will convert the payment from GBP to USD based on the mid-market exchange rate (similar to interbank rate) at the time the payment is created, and the recipient will receive the funds in USD.
What are the costs or fees associated with using Cash App?
Cash App transfers take about 2-3 days to be completed. However, if you need to send funds instantly, you can pay a rush fee of 1.5% of the transfer amount.
When trying to fund your transfer with a credit card, your card issuer will charge about 3% of the transfer amount.
ATMs withdrawals are free but only if you enable direct deposits to receive your salary. Otherwise, each withdrawal will cost you about $2.
